Klaus Mehrens
Klaus Mehrens is a former regional director of IG Metall in Germany for the states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Thuringia, and acted as advisory member of the federal board of IG Metall. Previously, Dr Mehrens was head of the department for fundamental issues and policy planning at IG Metall in Franfurt-M, president of Hamburg's local chapter of IG Metall, and voluntary member of the federal board of IG Metall. Since 2007, Dr Mehrens has been a senior research fellow at the Global Policy Institute. Most recently, he has taken part in a research project on transatlantic economic cooperation conducted by the European Programme at the Institute.
